Mount Carmel Presidential Search

To the Mount Carmel Bible College Community:

(This posting is now closed to applications)

We are truly grateful for the many people who continue to pray for and support Mount Carmel. The purpose of this letter is to inform you that we are starting a presidential search process with the goal of hiring a new president for the 2021/2022 school year.

As of April, Ken Marshman will have completed his two-year term as Interim President, and we are very grateful for the work he has done. Ken has expressed to the board that he will not be seeking the permanent role of President, but that he is willing to extend his interim role for a period of time to ensure a smooth transition. Ken has done a commendable job as Interim President, and he and the other staff have worked very hard to uphold our mandate of effective discipleship training, even during a pandemic with the unique challenges it brings.

In the coming days we will begin distributing a prospectus that will help prospective candidates to better understand who we are and the important role the President plays in this ministry.  Our hope is that, by mid-April, our hiring committee will have begun the interview process and that, by the end of May, the board will have come to a final decision. The goal is to have completed the hiring process by mid-June, with the new president starting in early-August.

This is a critical time for Mount Carmel. With our small and longstanding staff, a new hire is, in some ways, more like adding a new family member than a new leader.

Please continue to pray for Mount Carmel, for our staff and students, and please help us reach prospective candidates by distributing the attached prospectus to those you think would be well-suited to the role.

Chair, Mount Carmel Bible College Board of Directors
