Stories from Thailand

Posted May 23, 2018

Doughnuts, jackfruit, mango, banana, and sticky rice were the spoils of yesterdays morning’s trip to the market, making for a slightly unbalanced but tasty breakfast!  Our day was quite the adventure as we tried to learn the ropes of buying and finding things in a local market. We have also gotten to explore some areas of Bangkok and experience some different modes of transportation.

So far we have had the privilege of hearing stories of Christians from around the world who have found themselves in Thailand. From Vietnamese refugees to a second generation missionary involved in orphanages, schools and refugee camps. In addition to this we were able to visit a ministry in the red light district of Bangkok. This ministry works to help mostly women get out of prostitution by providing them with classes, jobs or helping them get back to their home countries if they were trafficked. This truly does feel like a place of peace and hope in an area where there is so much hurt.
